Sometimes people also ask me if I can predict stocks that will move up. Well, yes and no. On any given day, hundreds of stocks go up. What is more important to you is not whether a stock will appreciate but whether you will gain from it financially.

Let's say, Bill buys the stock of Acme Co. at $30 on the advice on an astrologer. He meets three of his friends over beer the same week and recommends the stock of Acme Co. at $30. All three get convinced by Bill and buy the stock the very next day.

1) A week later, Acme co. posts a loss and the stock dips to $22. One of the three friends panics and sells out at a loss.

2) Three months later, Acme Co. gets a major order and the stock moves up to $40. The second friend sells out.

3) Two months further, a stock split announced by Acme Co sees its stock move to $90 and Bill sells out but his third friend continues to hold.

4) Nine months later Acme Co. loses a major lawsuit , the stock price crashes to $15 and his third friend sells his stock.

So, despite having exactly the same information, all four friends made or lost money differently. You can only gain to the extent indicated by your chart. I can tell you whether you'll gain by purchasing a stock but that doesn't mean anyone and everyone who buys that stock will make money from it. Nor does it mean that I can invest in it and make millions myself.
